About Majhi Vasundhara Abhiyan

Majhi Vasundhara Abhiyan is an initiative under the Department of Environment and Climate Change, Government of Maharashtra that works for various causes of sustainable development and climate change. The initiative brings in both local and global corporate entities under one forum, enabling them to be a part of these sustainable changes. As we all know Nature Conservation is the wise management and utilisation of natural renewable resources in a sustainable manner to ensure the maintenance of biodiversity so these initiatives by the Environment and Climate Change Department, Govt. of Maharashtra, target to engage stakeholders from different sectors and age groups to sensitize them about sustainable development.

Especially people living in urban areas need to take care of the fast disappearing vegetation and forest. The concept of Global warming is not alien to us. And it is our responsibility towards our planet to maintain what we have, reverse these adverse changes that we are facing. Majhi Vasundhara It is an unique integrated first-ever exercise in India by the government of Maharashtra. Main objective of this initiative is to focuss on all five elements of nature i.e. “Panchamahabhuta” comprises Bhumi (Earth), Jala (Water), Vayu (Air), Agni (Energy), Akash (Enhancement) to ensure sustainable development for the society.
